Simple Past Tense dalam Bahasa Inggris

A. Simple Present Tense

Simple present tense adalah salah satu tenses dalam bahasa Inggris yang digunakan antara lain untuk :

1. Mengungkapkan kebiasaan sehari-hari. Contoh : Risa eats breakfast every morning.
2. Mengungkapkan penyataan yang faktual. Contoh : The moon revolves around the earth.
3. Simple present juga digunakan untuk menyatakan sesuatu yang sering ataupun terjadi dalam waktu tertentu. Contoh : Risa celebrates her birthday in every 21th August. 

Bentuk simple present tense :
Pada simple present tense hal yang harus diperhatikan adalah tentang penambahan -s dalam verb yang tergantung dari subjek kalimat. Contoh :

• I work in a hotel.
• He works in a hotel.

Sederhananya adalah sebagai berikut :
{I-You-They-We} tidak pakai -s.
{He-She-It} pakai -s.

Contoh present tense dalam jenis kalimat :
a. Statement (pernyataan)
- I work in a hotel.
- He works in a hotel.
b. Negative
- I do not work in a hotel.
- He does not work in the hotel.
c. Question
- Do you work in a hotel?
- Does he work in a hotel?
